Today was mostly about cutting the grass, in both the front and back gardens. It was also a return to my writing time in the stuga and general workout. By the end of the day, I was already aching, which does not augur well for tomorrow. Still, I felt a big sense of achievement, particularly with also washing all my dirty clothes from the trip to France.
The weather helped with both the washing and the mowing. It was the perfect day for both.
It was also perfect for our resident woodpecker who has finally discovered the feeder outside Mirinda’s study. With chirps aplenty, it stabs and eats the fat ball inside. We watched it in a break from discussing investment options for the future.

It was certainly a beautiful spring day and I, for one, am glad I spent most of it outside.
Of course, there was also cooking to do.
Mirinda said she is glad that Chez Gaz is once more open for business. Today I tried a pretty salad for lunch and lo-carb tacos for dinner. I didn’t think the salad was particularly pretty but my taco spice mix was delicious.
I really need to work on my presentation, which is why I attempted a pretty salad rather than my usual chuck it all in a bowl and mix it with salad servers. Mind you, most accompanying salads I see at restaurants are pretty ordinary if not downright dull, however, it is good practice for bigger meals, I guess.
Obviously, the tacos were not what you’d call pretty. But that comes from having to build them ourselves.

I took the photo above because I don’t have enough photos of my food on my phone. During the retreat people were proudly sharing their food pics with the same excitement usually reserved for babies and pets. Sadly when I was asked, I didn’t have any.
That was my day. As for Mirinda she managed to go to Zumba. She always leaves with that intention but, unfortunately, the class is generally cancelled. Today, however, it went ahead and she had a good work out. She also walked the girls – Freya improves by the day, she even barked tonight – around to the adventure park and back.
A pretty idyllic day if you ask me.
And, to finish, I keep forgetting to include this photo taken by Oriane of me outside the best pâtisserie in Toulouse, according to Jessica.

I don’t generally much like photos of myself, but I reckon this one is pretty good.
