Today, as we returned from our jaunt up Trosa Mountain, we passed a tattooed man carrying two weighty tomes under one arm. He bent to pat Emma. I don’t know why, but she unexpectedly allowed it. Emma was being strangely friendly. Or maybe she was just too tired after all the ball chasing to care.
After all, it was pretty hot today, and she did run up and down the mountain a ridiculous amount of times. Freya and I just watched her for the most part. Freya, sensibly, watched from the shade beneath a bench.
Speaking of Freya, I reckon she is definitely on the mend. Not so much with her eating though she did manage a whole tin of dog food over the course of today, but in her desire to accompany us to dinner tonight.
It being our 35th wedding anniversary on Monday (and seeing as we scheduled a BookBusters gathering then) we decided to head out to Matstudio for a celebratory dinner. And, as I sat in the glassroom putting my shoes and braces on, Freya actually came out and joined me, wagging her tail with a hint of a suggestion that she wanted to come with us.
While generally keen to be with us, she hasn’t been since being unwell, so I saw this as an excellent leap forwards for her. Obviously, Emma wanted to come as well.
We sat outside in the very pleasant late day weather and had the usual, brilliant meal. Mirinda had duck and I had trout. Everything was superb and having the girls with us gave it extra appeal.

There was a moment when two fellow diners stood at the fence around the outside dining area, and had a cigarette, the smoke from which started invading our senses and was starting to spoil our meal, but this was quickly resolved by one of the staff who went across and told them to move a lot further away.
This led to a conversation we had with the woman who had sent them off. We all agreed that people are not used to cigarette smoke any more and should be spared the noxious fumes.
Yet another reason to love Matstudio.
