The gout seems to have gone, though my right ankle is still not 100% happy. I think the main reason my right ankle is still not 100% happy is mostly due to balance issues while digging the path out to the street. And then taking the girls for a somewhat uneven walk through the woods.

In the past, the path has been ploughed by a quad bike with a cow catcher type affair on the front but, not this time. In fact, I walked all the way to the pre-school and the path down to the road hadn’t been cleared either, which would be a bit annoying if I was going to the ICA.
Maybe the snow eradication services are a bit snowed under at the moment and the path through the woods is not a high priority because cars come first. Whatever the reason, it made for a pretty uneven walk which may have exacerbated my tender ankle.
There was a rather odd path cleared, heading up to the woods. It started at the main path and headed up, at an angle. The girls, for reasons known only to them, followed this path which was about as wide as a six-year-old child.
Normally when they do this, they will eventually notice I’m not behind them, look around for me then retrace their steps to join me again. Today, from behind a wall of snow, Freya raced back to the main path and was behind me in no time.
All I could see of Emma was her tail, wagging as she tried to find me. Then, almost panicking, she breached the snow bank and tried her gazelle like bouncing, heading straight towards me. The snow was so deep she couldn’t find purchase and was, subsequently, finding it heavy going. Eventually she reached me. I’d like to think that she learned a lesson but I doubt it.

On the way to the woods, I passed a few people and exchanged greetings. Everyone has been out clearing driveways and clearing snow from their cars. They all seemed jolly enough. When they asked me if I liked the snow, I told them that I loved it. Being Australian, it is still a novelty. Surprisingly, perhaps, they said they liked it as well.
Mind you, something I’m not that keen on is the shovelling.
I spent a goodly amount of time completing the path then clearing away the snow and ice from the bins so, if they ever get emptied, the garbage collectors will be able to extricate them. Most people have done the same, though I noticed a few remained firmly encased.
Something else I cleared away was some of the snow off the car. The path runs alongside the car so it was necessary to get rid of a lot of it, otherwise it would have just filled the path again.

We were forecast more snow but, in the usual way of such things, it never happened.
