We had a garden designer over today to give her opinion on what we could do about the mess behind our house. She was pretty direct – chop the hornbeam that’s a willow, down, destroy the path, lose the hedge, get rid of the banana tree, remove all grass and lay gravel…she wanted to rip out everything and start again. She even disliked the wildlife friendly stick pile! I was seriously devastated.
Actually, she wasn’t really that bad but Mirinda thought she was pretty disapproving of most of it. She definitely thinks we should get rid of the mouldy tree. And, to be fair, she has convinced us. Now I just need to convince the tree guy to send me a quote.
Regardless of the garden designer’s opinion, the garden doesn’t look that bad (if you ask me) now that the weather has turned away from winter and on towards summer. Little bits of colour are starting to appear. Like this…
And the forget-me-nots are amazing. They have appeared everywhere and the tiny little flowers are glorious.
The cherry, too, has suddenly decided to burst forth with a splendid spray of colour.
Even the now almost constantly fallen petals of the magnolia, look lovely spread all over the ground up the back.
And, a little surprise has started to grow out of the fence betwixt us and the Crazies. We’re not sure what it is but it looks quite sweet. Again, it’s quite small.
So, as far as I’m concerned, everything in the garden is looking rosy. Next week I’ll no doubt have to rip some stuff out and put it some place else but, even so, I like the garden!
What a cheek telling you to rip it all out you have some very pretty flowers and The Path my god how dare she. That last picture looks like a brides bouquet lovely.
