What a day it was. From the heady heights of the receipt of our new bins to memories of Jiggles. From cat feeding to squeezing oranges with a juicer bra. The day almost had everything. But high up on the list were the bins.
I’ve been waiting for ages. The first announcement came so long ago, I’ve forgotten. We were told we’d be getting two bins with multiple sections, like the ones we first came across in Skåne when we originally arrived in Sweden back in 2020.
I may have mentioned them once or twice when Sally and Kate were here because they, like me, have also been anxious for the arrival. But there is no longer need to worry, for they arrived today.

Delirious with joy, I insisted on photographic evidence of my excessive happiness.
And speaking of joy…tonight we saw the funniest show. Sitting in the small theatre at the Stockholm Kulturhuset, I was a bit concerned that it was going to be a one-person show. I have said before, on numerous occasions, how much I dislike one person shows. But my fears were quickly dispelled.
The show was called Delores DeVille and featured the extraordinary (the only word, really) Angela Wand as Delores and her friend Joy, played by Tanya Gagné. They both have great circus skills and Delores does a fine line in card tricks. Joy, on the other hand, has fine-tuned her screeching skills.
The show featured the pair as they reminisced about their time at Jiggles, a strip joint (according to some) where they wound up, having met as small kids. They took us through a series of exercises, designed to get us warmed up. Which they did. The audience was ready for some high octane enjoyment and that’s exactly what it got.
In fact, the place was packed and everyone laughed for the entire show which was supposed to last an hour but, joyously, went about 20 minutes overtime.
There was one moment that could have ended in disaster but was narrowly averted when Delores noticed my walking stick.
There are a few bits of audience participation. One of them required three audience members to go up on stage and click their fingers, walk about and generally look cool. They eventually had flowers whipped out of their hands which was pretty amazing.
Anyway, Delores left the stage and came straight towards me, her hand outstretched to take me away from my seat. She then spotted the cane and said “Cane,” before changing tack and grabbing the guy in front of me. It was very fortunate because I wouldn’t have lasted very long. Years ago, yes but these days gravity is not my friend.
Luckily, my walking stick saved the day and I sat back and enjoyed the other people being unexpectedly entertaining.
The whole show was fantastic, colourful, mad and ridiculously entertaining. I haven’t laughed so much in ages.
A couple of highlights featured Joy during happy hour, squeezing oranges using juicers attached to her breasts in a strange bra contraption and handy stagehand Magnus vacuuming up Joy’s feathers after her chicken dance. Seriously, the show was that mad.

Just a couple of crazy ladies out for a good time. I loved it.
