Saturday at home with the dogs

It has been a while since the girls and I have had a Saturday without Mirinda. Today was the first time for ages, as she attended a TEDx event at Stockholm University, featuring her professor along with a few other presenters. She returned home at about 7:30, saying how much she enjoyed the day.

The speakers talked, sang and danced, highlighting various aspects of nature and the appalling state of it.

She also reconnected with Ashley and Magna, both of whom she invited over for a boat ride before the season ends. Mirinda also met Magna’s girlfriend, Frieda who had a broken foot after climbing a big rock and falling off when a root gave way.

In the meanwhilst, here in Trosa, we spent most of the day doing some sort of admin and laundry, before heading up Mount Trosa as the sky cleared, the sun came out and it warmed up a lot.

I was wearing jeans but soon realised I should have still been in shorts. By the time we returned home, the sweat was pouring off me. Still, I may have been overheated, but obviously the walk did me some good. The girls definitely enjoyed it.

I didn’t see anyone on our entire walk. Although I don’t usually see anyone when we walk through the woods, I tend to see joggers and strollers on the path. But not today. It felt like I owned the place.

Back at the house, I returned to my admin duties before settling down to a bit of South Korean TV, waiting for Mirinda to get home.

The girls waited patiently as well.

They both really love the rocking chair.
