Today I received a link to the video of Aida, which I saw in Båstad the other weekend. I paused the video for a shot of the audience. I have circled my head in yellow, just to show what a great seat I had.

The video is only going to be available until mid-September. I don’t think I’ll actually watch it. There doesn’t seem a lot of point, given I was there, live, when it happened.
As for today, we, basically, hung around the house doing a combination of housework and admin type stuff (scanning for me, app work for Mirinda), waiting for the weather to improve enough to go for a boat ride. It wasn’t raining, though the clouds did seem to want to, but it was quite windy at the beginning of the day.
We did go to the Boat and Trailer shop in order to buy a boat hook but, as I said, we were waiting for the weather to improve. Which it did by about 4pm. We quickly loaded up the car and headed down to the dock. As well as the usual paraphernalia, we decided it was time to introduce the rest of the family to the joys of boating.
I guess they’re more used to big Ro-ro vessels. It was a bit of a struggle getting them onboard. Freya was very frightened at first, while brave Emma took it in her stride. Anyway, by the time we returned to the dock for a late afternoon cuppa, Freya fell instantly asleep.

It was the perfect evening for a boat ride.
Something I noticed the other day was a narrow strip of beach covered in geese. The beach is mere metres from two ultra modern houses on the edge of Öbolandet, the island just off World’s End. The two houses share the beach. As we went by in the boat, I wondered what it was like having a beach covered in goose shit.
But it wouldn’t just be the excremental sand, the noise when they all decided to take off must be quite loud. I’m not sure if it’s bad luck or bad planning. Presumably the beach was there before the houses…unless the beach was artificially created, in which case, the homeowners would be victims of their own plans. I guess.

As for the girls, who totally ignored all the birds along the way, we’ll make them into a couple of old sea dogs before they know it.
