Schoolboy error

On the spur of the moment, we decided to head into Trosa for lunch at Tre Små Rum. The day was glorious so we sat outside. I can’t remember the last time we sat outside but it was definitely not this year. No day has been good enough for outside sitting. And it wasn’t just us. There were a number of family groups soaking up the sun although not all the umbrellas were open.

I realise the photo makes it look quite empty but the tables to the left and right of the photo were inhabited. And more people turned up as we sat there.

(There was an incident with a crow trying to steal a cake from an unwary family, which prompted Mirinda to tell the staff to get the spray water bottles out.)

Fortunately, it wasn’t as crowded as Trosa Gelato or Ankaret, both of which were full to the brim, as if the sun had dragged people out and into the world. I felt a bit sorry for Villa Tjugosju, the newest café/shop in Trosa. They are only open Friday, Saturday and Sunday and, given the way the weather has been this Spring, it’s more than likely to rain for the next few days.

Actually, when I say it was on the spur of the moment, that’s not entirely true.

This morning the car was booked in for a service. I booked it a while ago but, stupidly, gave them Mirinda’s phone number. I did this because she’s the registered keeper and driver and, I assumed, it should be her phone number. Then, of course, they sent a reminder text yesterday asking if we still wanted the booking. Mirinda is notorious for not seeing text messages.

We rocked up to the service place early this morning only to be told our slot had been given to someone who does read their text messages.

We had figured that we would take the dogs and go for a walk while waiting for the car. The walk would probably have taken in a café at some point. So, it was sort of planned. Anyway, we went back home and had a coffee on the deck instead.

I rebooked the car service for July and used my phone number instead.

And, speaking of rebooking…I managed to get our tickets to Kejsarn av Portugallien (The Emperor of Portugal) changed to later in the year. We were going to the Västanå Theatre while we were in Värmland over Midsummer but, of course, that plan had to change. I contacted the theatre and they said that I could exchange for another performance by going through the booking agent, Tickster. I didn’t hold out much hope but was then very pleasantly surprised when they switched them for me.

Thank you, Jenny from Tickster, you are a star.
