Gunnel Frieberg (1919-2010) was a sculptor, cartoonist and graphic artist. She studied in Malmö and Stockholm. Her sculptures can be seen in many places, dotted around Sweden. Her style is reminiscent of Picasso yet singularly her own. I thought I’d recognised her work but, on second thoughts, probably not. The one in the foyer of the eye place we visited today is certainly memorable. You can read a bit about her, here.

I haven’t been able to find a title for it, but she did make a few with flicka in the title. Flicka means girl. So I’ve called this Fighting Flicka for no reason other than the fact that I don’t like artworks without a title.
Of course, following yesterday’s turnaround, we were back in Stockholm for Mirinda to have her first procedure. Except she didn’t. It was another case of change. She sat and had a long discussion with the doctor and it was decided to go with a different option and, in order to do that, the date has now been moved to next week.
Of course, the new dates have made a mess of our plans for Midsummer in Dalarna, but Mirinda came up with a brilliant alternative holiday plan.
All the AirBnBs she booked can be cancelled, so we’re switching them to Stockholm. All will be great.
Following a coffee at a Fabrique, we headed back to Stockholm Central to meet Chris and the girls.

They all had a lovely time. Emma even cuddled up to Chris in bed last night. She isn’t the greatest at showing affection, so I guess she really likes Chris.
Of course, the girls have totally become a pair of nollåttas. They were both a bit concerned about travelling out to the sticks. Apartment living in Stockholm was way more their style.
