The other day, on my slow way into Trosa, I unexpectedly, stopped and chatted with Anneka from Lagnö Bo. She told me that the collective was having an Open House Day and we should come and visit. “There will be fika,” She added. The Open House was today and she was right.
Mirinda asked the Button People if they’d like to come, knowing they like that kind of thing. Victor was keen though Ebba was planning on having a hangover after a bachelorette party last night. Victor’s brother came instead.
So, at around 2pm, we turned up outside their house and bundled them into the car for the short drive across to Lagnö. We started with an outside tour.

Victor, being the horticulturalist he is, was keen on seeing the garden. He also took the opportunity to talk to lots of people about the co-operative.
Of course, Mirinda and I were greeted enthusiastically by everyone. Naturally, they all teased me about my lack of Swedish language skills. I simply referred them to my wife, suggesting they talk to her in Swedish and she could translate for me.
And, of course, Anneka was right. There was fika. A lovely cake, a coffee and a delightful chat.

We found out that Victor’s brother Nicholai (I have no idea how to spell his name) had recently returned from cycling to Paris and back with a bit of yachting in between. 4,000km of yachting, to be entirely accurate. He is planning a future which includes sailing the world, living on his boat and being completely free. He’s 22, determined and I reckon he’ll do it.
It was a lovely way to spend a few hours, especially after only four hours sleep and a trip to the ICA for essential dinner supplies. I suggested we have Persian style roast chicken, something that Mirinda was not going to object to.
So, while Mirinda was off at gympa, I prepared our Sunday roast. And it was delicious. Even if I do say so myself.

Mirinda even had seconds.
It just needed a handy sister-in-law to wash up afterwards to be perfect.
