This morning, while Harald and Roger finished the painting of the lounge, I went over to Stensund for my second visit with the students. KSP picked me up and she drove us across to the school. While gusty, the day was gorgeous. And we had an enjoyable discussion regarding the first Eurovision semi-final last night.

Not that I got to watch it like she did. No, the TV in the stuga is only good for Netflix.
Anyway, I thought my second chat with the students was good and productive. I concentrated mostly on archaeology. There was a wonderful moment when one of the students asked about finding fossils and mentioned Mary Anning. From zero recognition for so many years to being talked about in an English class at a Swedish folk school, is job well done, as far as I’m concerned.
We also had a bit of acting, with some of the students reading a couple of scenes from Away. I was well impressed. I mean, they’re not actors and not there to read a play, but their reading skills were fantastic. I have heard a lot worse by English-speaking actors.
After class, we had a delicious salmon lunch (the food at Stensund is always so good) before KSP drove me back home.
It wasn’t long before Harald came to say they’d finished and could I come and give it a thumbs up.
At the beginning of last week, the lounge was decorated with wallpaper which, while I don’t normally like wallpaper, wasn’t that bad to live with. Though I may have just grown used to it.

After almost two weeks of work, the house has been transformed. As Roger said, the lounge and the kitchen now look much bigger. He also suggested using Photoshop to switch the colours around and send to Mirinda. A pity we didn’t think of that before. It would have been a jolly jape if ever there was one.
So, this is how it looks now. Well, apart from being basically empty, something I will rectify from tomorrow morning.

Even the floor looks new, although it had nothing done to it.
