Post beta testing

Back in June, last year, I started beta testing recipes for a new French cookbook written by Geraldine Leverd. I follow her on Instagram and regularly download her wonderful recipes. When she posted, asking for volunteers to cook, eat and comment on her work, prior to publication, I leapt in with my name.

I then pre-ordered the book following Geraldine’s announcement of the book being ready. It arrived while we were in Stockholm and was waiting for me by the door.

I sent the quickly snapped photo above, to Geraldine on Instagram.

After a quick, flick through, I found the acknowledgement pages. There, in black and white, was my name, along with a lot of others, thanking us for the testing.

Note that there are a fair few Geraldine’s just below my name. Also that, in this section anyway, it is mostly women.

After a more thorough perusal of the recipes today, I have decided to try something new and French this week. Though, that is for later, today I cooked a chicken salad for lunch then a casserole for dinner.

After lunch, we popped into Trosa so Mirinda could visit her optician, and we could pop into the hardware place to buy blinds and a stick, both to be used in the elimination of light. Not that there was a lot of it about today.

In fact, the day was quite dull, with occasional spits of rain. There was no drenching. The girls shivered through a lot of the day though, as the temperature remains set to chilly. I remarked that it was hard to believe I was wearing shorts last week.

Then, in a wonderful twist of fate, I managed to watch a bit of snooker.

That’s Luca Brecel at the table, in the midst of a wonderful frame winning break.
