Don’t you hate it when you sit down to put your shoes on, bend over to tie your laces then find that one foot is standing on one lace. It’s impossible to lift your foot while holding on to your laces. It requires a complete restart. Like I said, irritating. Though not as irritating as attending a tap dancing performance only to find it contained unexpected elements and was awful.
I experienced the shoelace thing this morning as we prepared to leave for Nyköping in order to have Max’s winter tyres replaced. While Mirinda attended a regrettable performance of tap dancing, unexpected drumming and a bit of caterwauling.
Max had his tyres switched without much fuss and, overall, it was an easy and non-eventful journey there and back again. Even the dogs were super relaxed about it all. The tap dancing performance was part of the Stockholm Tap Festival and, in Mirinda’s words, probably the worst performance of anything she’s ever seen.
On the way home, I had Mirinda drop me off in Trosa so I could pop into the System while she headed back to the house for a meeting. The day was gorgeous again and warm enough for shorts. Well, for me anyway. And, warm enough for the cherry blossom too.

I wrote to Dr Emma Southon via Instagram this morning to say how much I enjoyed Agrippina. Her response was lovely.
Hi Gary, thank you so much for reaching out! It’s always wonderful to hear from people who’ve enjoyed my work.
I’m pretty sure that Mirinda won’t be contacting the tap dancer/drummer and complimenting his work.
