I didn’t do an awful lot today. I have no idea what time I went to bed last night but know it was quite late. I was also rather inebriated. Because of this, I had a lie in. For anyone who doesn’t know, a ‘lie in’ is like a sleep in but without the sleep. Though, to be completely accurate, I did snooze a bit. This lazy start to the day carried on through to bedtime.
Well, apart from a lovely walk around the mountain with the girls, after lunch.
In the meanwhilst, in Stockholm, Mirinda was busy chatting to Norwegians about how to get a novel published. She felt it was a shame that the Writers’ Festival excluded any non-fiction but, otherwise, she seems to be enjoying herself.
She especially enjoyed the Lördagsgodis offering, telling me by text “See, it does exist.“

For those that are unaware of it, Lördagsgodis is a Swedish tradition for kids eating sweets on a Saturday.
Weirdly, the tradition started as a result of a government recommendation back in 1959. The non-government sanctioned Vipeholm experiments resulted in finding that vast amounts of sugar in one’s diet caused tooth decay. The findings led to the government suggesting that people only give their kids sweets on Saturdays.
Incidentally, the Vipeholm experiments were horrendous in terms of medical ethics, not to mention simple humanity. However, it did convince some Swedes to only allow their kids to have sweets on Saturdays.
And not just kids, I guess, given the Writers’ Festival is really for grown-ups.
And, I sort of had my own Lördagsgodis. Beth from next door brought over a few failed cookies she tried to make. They were very sweet and very flat. Very nice, though.
Mirinda said her day had been quite exhausting and was going to eat at a nearby Persian restaurant. Sadly, it was fully booked. Fortunately, there are plenty of other eateries in the area and she found somewhere else quite easily.
Here, in Trosa, as well as the failed cookies, I ate a Gaz salad made up of almost all food from Lagnö Bo – the big box of delight we bought on Wednesday. It was delish. Particularly with some added bacon.
Anyway, as for our only venture outside the house, the woods were lovely and, mostly, deserted. The girls had a lovely time, even though I may have been walking a bit slower than usual.

Before bed, Jason and I watched Kill Bill, which he’d never seen, although he does have a pair of yellow runners the same as the ones that Uma Thurman wears in the movie. I don’t know if they help him to use Samurai swords.
