Today I found out that the Swedish ideal is in owning a detached house (villa), a Volvo and a dog (vovve). This is called the Tre V (pronounced Tree-a V). Arij told me in class today, saying that I had achieved two of those things. I suggested I had a third V in that our car was a VW. She was not convinced, saying it had to be a good, safe, reliable Swedish Volvo.
In terms of our detached house, today marked a year since we received the keys and visited for the first time as the owners. In the post a year ago, I included two photographs and, this year, I decided to replicate those photographs to show the difference.

The main difference seems to be the size of the tree, the raised beds, a flag and the white chairs and table. The latter we went and picked up on Monday from Auctionet. The set reminded Mirinda of Dural so, obviously, we had to get them. Oh, and our ladder up the roof.
The trip to Skärholmen on Monday marked the first time we’ve been able to pick up a large item ourselves because of the Tiguan. Poor Max could only collect the smallest things. For the bigger bits and pieces, we had to hire Harald.
The other photo I took last year was of the kitchen. It looked delightfully empty, as if eagerly waiting for me to fill it with everything Chez Gaz had. It looks a lot more lived in now.

A lot has happened over the last year, particularly in terms of the house (note the big white globes had gone from the kitchen). The best thing, though, is how much we love living here. That’s something that has grown.
Tonight, before bed, Mirinda showed me the stars. The Trosa stars are now our stars.
Love that you came into our part of the world. <3
