More snow in Trosa

Mirinda said this morning, as I showed her my new woollen socks hand made by KSP, that it wasn’t cold enough for them and I’d suffer. Shortly afterwards we headed up for fika in zero degrees and light snow and I begged to differ. As things turned out, the hand-knitted socks were a welcome addition to my feet today.

We went for fika as Mirinda left for Portugal this afternoon and will be away for the next two weeks. It would be lovely to get a few entries from her during her time there. We shall see…

A couple of coffees and cardamom buns at Visthuset made for the perfect send off. Particularly given the warmth inside the café. Outside, the temperature was sitting firmly at zero and light rain was falling. There was also one of those pesky freezing winds blowing. It wasn’t particularly pleasant.

Back at home, Mirinda finished her packing, Skyped with Fi, had a final Chez Gaz lunch then waited for Nicoline who had kindly offered to drive her to the station.

As I waved them off from the gravel of our driveway, the snow started falling. And it didn’t stop. As I went back inside, passing Max, I was very glad we hadn’t changed our winter tyres yet.

As the day progressed into darkness, the snow kept falling until the world returned to Christmas.

Mirinda’s flight was delayed but she eventually made it, safely, to her accommodation in Lisbon.
