I was supposed to go to the barber today. My bashed big toe thought otherwise. When I woke up this morning, I could hardly walk. The big toe was an attractive bright red and the wound site was also a bit enraged. I did manage to hobble downstairs but that was about it for the day.
I cancelled the barber until next week.
So my day consisted of not very much beyond dog minding and working on my laptop. Mirinda needed a bibliography constructed so that occupied an hour or so and I also researched a couple of dead soldiers for the Surrey History Centre.
I was basically on my own for most of the day as Mirinda had an appointment in Winchester which, while it didn’t take very long, meant she was away all day. That may have been because she was checking out the noise levels of towns around and near to Winchester.
Something else I did while sitting, covered with cockerpoos, was to look at the WordPress AI Assistant.
I should say, from the outset, that I’m not a big fan of AI but, ignoring that, I’m well pleased with its opinion of my post yesterday.
The content has a personal and engaging tone that connects well with readers who enjoy slice-of-life stories.
The content’s blend of personal anecdote with local municipal procedures is interestingly juxtaposed, which keeps the reader’s attention. The casual storytelling style is well-suited to a blog format.
AI Assistant in WordPress.
There were the usual suggestions that I should shorten paragraphs, include a caption on the photograph and add subheadings, but otherwise, it was a pretty good review, I thought. It also indicated that the AI Assistant actually ‘read’ the post.
But, to return to my toe. It felt a lot like gout, something of which I have had a lot of experience, although it doesn’t normally turn neon red. I think it was just the effect of the bash and the fact that my feet are truly annoying.
Now, I was going to show a picture of my disgusting big red toe but Mirinda convinced me that that would not be very nice so, to save people’s sensibilities, here’s a photo from yesterday of Freya’s newest lap:

As you can see from the above photo, the sun shone most of the day, yesterday. Today, it wasn’t so pleasant. It drizzled with rain all day. Which meant I was rather glad I cancelled the barber.
