No complaint frittata

It was Alice Day today, the day that Alice in Wonderland was first published back in 1865. I generally forget it until the day is almost over. Like this year. However, in the recognition of literary and general nonsense, I would like to say how much I’m enjoying the opportunity to wear odd shoes.

It’s something I’ve wanted to do for ages. Okay, I’d rather not have been forced into it because of the evil growth on my extra toe but, still, yay!

And speaking of the evil growth, I returned to the Vårdcentralen today in order to have the dressing changed and to get a general, incredibly painful, scraping done. The nurse was happy with the progress but said it needed wrapping back up and did so. She then booked me in to see her again next week. This is as well as seeing the Wound Nurse on Thursday.

And, because I worked out that the Vårdcentralen is the same distance as the ICA from our house (by taking the woods and pedestrian shortcuts) I walked. It felt great being more mobile than I have since…well, yesterday I guess.

It wasn’t exactly the same length. It took two minutes more to Vårdcentralen.

While I was out and about, Harald was at the house finishing up a few jobs which were left when he called in sick the other day. In his half German, half Swedish, and a smudge of English, he basically implied he’d had a cold from working in the cold the day before with inadequate clothing. Today, however, he was suitably wrapped up.

And, while mentioning the weather, I really hope Denise is bringing her warmest clothes because the weather has been set at around -7° every day for the last few and doesn’t look like getting much warmer. Not that we’ve had any more snow. As the photo above shows, it was a beautiful sunny day today.

Upon my return to the house, I noticed two things. Firstly, Harald had finished for the day and, secondly, Beth next door is having solar panels fitted to their garage roof. I let the girls out, and we wandered around, inspecting Harald’s work. I also noticed that I could hear the snow cannons just around the corner, on Mount Trosa. I guess the wind was blowing from the right direction because we normally hear very little of anything.

I had a Skype with Mirinda late on when I told her I’d had frittata for dinner. She doesn’t really enjoy my frittatas. I thoroughly enjoyed mine.

That looks huge. It wasn’t. It was just right for one. And I had no complaints. Yay.
