No shoe for old man

Today, being their final Sweden day, saw Fi and Lauren heading off to Stockholm where they met Mirinda and enjoyed the Stromma Stockholm Archipelago tour complete with delicious lunch. Sadly, I was at home, looking after the girls and not wearing any shoes.

My extra toe is not happy. It’s fine when I walk around – well, as fine as it could be given my wobblyness – but I can’t put anything on it. I wore an old sock, so I could go to the station with Fi when she took Mirinda up for her Swedish class but that was it. And I only wore it because of the gravel on our drive.

I spent a large part of the day wondering how I’m going to get to the UK on Monday without a right shoe. I figure a big, thick bandage might do it.

The rest of the day was about moving things around and working out how to display sheet music on Mirinda’s new iPad. We bought the iPad specifically for this purpose.

David, Mirinda’s guitar teacher, uses one and has urged Mirinda to do the same. While I can see the advantage of using it to transport all your music with great ease, I’m not sure about watching a screen for great lengths of time.

I also moved the big mirror into the bedroom to try and find somewhere I can hang it. I couldn’t locate the battens, so I’m thinking it might have to go somewhere else.

I also did a fair bit of admin, laundry and essential online shopping.

And so was my day, while, in Stockholm, this lot was living it up.

And why not, I say. (Photo courtesy of Lauren, by the way.)
