Preparing for slippage

Lukas returned this morning for a second full day at the Red House. By close of play, he hadn’t finished and will be back but not for a couple of weeks. While a bit annoying, at least he’s made everything safe.

The electricals really were bad and shows how DIY in Sweden is a bit mad. It’s not like you just put up a few shelves in the living room. This is wholesale lunacy. For example, one power point, which fortunately didn’t work, was connected to the line for the radiator and would have pumped out 400w of power rather than 240w. It would have fried anything plugged into it.

Still, all is good and nothing was destroyed. And that’s what matters.

While Lukas beavered away, we drove over to Nyköping for the all important changing of the tyres. We sat and waited while our summer tyres were given their hotel room and our winter tyres replaced them on Max.

It’s not that things are slippery at the moment but there’s a lot of preparation for it around us. Firstly, there was the guy up the road changing his, and, secondly, the flouro poles indicating ditches either side of the road have suddenly sprung up. We noticed a lot of them on the way over to Euromaster.

While we were gone, Lauren returned from her travels. She was most recently in Greece following a visit to Amsterdam…after Switzerland. We heard about some of her adventures over dinner.

Then, later, she shocked us all by destroying Mirinda’s beloved rocking chair.

That was a shock that Lukas could not prevent.

  1. Mirinda says:

Is that what 400 W looks like????
Actually not at all Lauren’s fault. It had already slipped a couple of times.
