Tiny balls of pleasure

While Mirinda and Fi were happily stretching at gym class this morning, I made my Swedish meatball mix. I gave Fi a copy of the Chez Gaz menu on the weekend, and this was her choice for dinner tonight. And, given the luxury of an entire day to prepare, I grabbed the opportunity with both hands and squished the hell out of it. The bowl of meatball mix was soon happily resting ion the fridge.

There was a bit of a break in the day when we popped over to Nicoline’s for lunch. This has become a traditional thing now. Every new guest at the house has to go over and meet her. It was shame she missed out on meeting Sharon and Jud, but a broken arm will do that.

Lunch was a lovely shrimp salad followed by a tarte tartin made with apples from her own trees. Mind you, she joked with Mirinda that she’d bought the apples from ICA this morning. Regardless, the tart was delicious.

She said that she and Eric picked 100 kilograms of apples on the weekend. The trees and the grass were still heavily populated with more. I think she needs another visit from the moose. And his friends.

Nicoline was then off to Stockholm for a Study Circle before heading back tomorrow to babysit some cats. So we drove back to the house where I sat and rolled a big plate of meatballs which then rested in the fridge for a few hours.

While I rolled my tiny balls, Mirinda and Fi decided it was good idea to walk through the woods and enjoy the falling rain we’d been subjected to all day. It was very refreshing.

And the meatballs were delicious. As was the cauli mash I served them with.
