Mirinda and Amanda spent the day in Stockholm today. Their visit to the House of Nobility went off very well, as did their sofa/bed hunt. Both of these events were planned. Not so the chance viewing of the changing of the guard at the Ugly Palace. Apparently it was full of the usual pomp and circumstance one attributes to such things. There were also more than enough people to overpopulate Stortorget on Gamla Stan directly afterwards.
In the meanwhilst, back at the red house, life was a little more open, slow and sparse. And with absolutely no pomp or circumstance. There was a bit of admin and an attempt to binge-watch Tomorrow, a South Korean TV programme I’m watching that is about to be removed from Netflix. Sadly, I didn’t manage more than two episodes.
Other than that, I went shopping first thing and, of course, being a Friday, the staff at the ICA were all wearing gold sequinned hats and matching bow ties as they went about their cheerful morning business. I’ve noticed the hat thing before. It certainly brightens up a Friday shop and it seems to make the staff smiles stretch a little broader. I wholeheartedly approve.
I also approve of the Irish cream covered almonds that Amanda bought. Like crunchy Bailey’s they were.
They proved a perfect finale to our gammon dinner.
