Sleep-walking zombie

I didn’t get a lot of sleep last night. I was stressed about getting everything done and it was the thoughts swirling around in my head, which kept me awake. It subsequently, meant a day during which I felt like a sleep walking zombie. The one highlight of the day was taking the girls to the park for a short break. The rest of the day was spent in trying to clear out my office.

Mirinda left me to it, as she went off on her retreat, which was one of the reasons why we came back to the UK when we did. It was with one of the boards she serves on.

And I didn’t manage to finish my office. It was as if every time I removed something, something else appeared through a rift in the space-time continuum. I finally gave up and went to bed just before 11pm, after organising things for the Man and a van, tomorrow.

5 days to go

Out of desperation, I hopped onto Checkatrade and found someone to come over tomorrow and take loads of stuff away. That someone is Jayson. He’ll be taking stuff to the dump as well as a few hundred books to the charity shop. The books comprised my entire maritime library as well as a few others. I felt very sad, piling them up in preparation for their departure.

Not that the entire day was spent in this miserable pursuit. First thing, we had a meeting with a couple of financial advisors to discuss how we were to go forwards into the future. There were lots of numbers and acronyms I only pretended to understand but, I think, over all things look pretty positive.

Possibly the saddest part of the day was having to cancel having coffee with Andrew. Hopefully we’ll catch up on Thursday or Friday. Otherwise, as he said, he’ll just have to hurry over to Sweden.
