Black cutlery

We took a load of stuff to the lock-up today. Unneeded winter clothes, various kitchen bits and pieces we’ve accumulated, half of Mirinda’s music; basically the stuff we won’t need until we return to Sweden. It is going to make packing Max a dream for the return trip.

The drive out to Nyköping was a delight. The countryside, with glimpses of the Baltic and great swathes of growing crops, bordered by deep forest, looked delightful under a sun filled sky. I love it here, so much.

On the way back, we stopped off at Bergs Gård, an organic farm which also specializes in mountain biking.

We had intended to sample the delights of the café but, sadly, the whole place had been taken over by a big group booking and was not open to the general public or, us, as I like to call it. After the briefest of wanderings, we hopped back into Max and kept driving.

Talking of driving, a few weeks ago, I was leaving the cemetery after shopping at the ICA and taking my brief rest, when I spotted the Google Street View car, updating information (I assumed). Every few days, I have been checking back to see if the camera caught me. And, guess what? It did. Here I am.

What a cack!

Back to today, and we wound up returning to the house. We were going to pop into Trosa for a walk around but Mirinda had some admin and a video call to make, and I was enjoying doing nothing, so we didn’t.

I made a frittata for dinner, which we ate on the terrace, and we listened to podcasts before bed. The accommodation doesn’t have a TV and, I have to say, it’s rather pleasant sitting back of an evening, listening to, rather than watching, entertainment.

What the house lacks in TV it makes up for with a few odd things. There’s the horse’s head I mentioned the other day, a hob that only works when you put a pan on the elements, a set of very steep stairs which double as drawers and this:

A full set of stainless steel, black cutlery. A bit disconcerting but pretty cool.

  1. Mirinda says:

The horse head nebula is the weirdest thing I’ve yet seen in an Airbnb!
