Today we moved. From one side of Trosa to another. From a house, high on a hill with a thousand steps to one on the flat with parking right outside. One that took half an hour to get from one end to the other to another that is slightly bigger than a garden shed. One with small boats on the window sills, one with a horse’s head on the mezzanine.
Moving into a new AirBnB is always an adventure, though possibly not if you’re equine.
In another animal moment today, Emma decided to embarrass the whole family by taking an inappropriate shit just in the entrance to Två Små Svin (Two Small Pigs). We had just entered the garden entrance when she went into crouch mode. It was timed perfectly for when a large group of pensioners, leaving the bed and breakfast part, decided to meander out, along the path.
Having cleaned up, we headed back out of the garden and entered the restaurant at the river entrance. We should have done that before. Though, had we done that, she would probably have done it in front of the two ladies on the bench who coo’ed over her. Little did they know.
In the meanwhilst, Mirinda is trying to blot the memory out.
We were having a late lunch at Två Små Svin following the move. Having walked down and up the thousand steps, I was ready for beer and beef and thoroughly enjoyed it. Mirinda enjoyed her coffee and shrimp as well but not as much as I did, the beer.
Note that Mirinda is wearing her Trosa sun hat. She bought it in a shop in the centrum, the owner of which is married to the owner of the dress shop opposite. I wonder whether they met through mutual shop ownership or if the shops came after the marriage. I’ll probably never know.
Anyway, eventually (after an ice cream and small shop at the ICA) we moved into our new abode.
Once upon a time, it was part of an isolated community but now, due to the expansion of Trosa, is starting to look a bit more suburban. Not that there are many houses built yet but there are new roads, street lights and assorted heavy machinery.
Funnily enough, when we first visited Trosa back in 2021, we drove around this area, looking at new builds. The road, at the time, was being made and the place was a bit of a mess. While it’s certainly looking a bit better now, I’m glad we chose the other end of Trosa to buy instead.
Definitely! And it’s cheaper. But our Airbnb is lovely though the horse head needs an explanation…
