Who ate the snowman’s nose?

It was the usual Saturday nothing day for me as Mirinda was off to language lessons in Stockholm. I watched a few episodes of Alice in Borderland, took the girls for a walk around the block and threw the tennis ball for Emma for a few hours. And that was about it.

It snowed for most of the day. Not big snow, mind you, just enough to make everything look clean and white. Emma loved it, rolling in it for the most part. Freya, on the other hand, doesn’t like it that much. It’s too cold for her. She prefers lying on the Princess Lounge.

The Princess Lounge is a couch in the house that is, frankly, uncomfortable for humans. But, with the addition of half a dozen cushions, has become a favoured cockerpoo spot for regal reclining. Princess Emma is the usual occupant, but Freya, too, has indulged.

Not that there was a lot of Princess Lounge indulgence. For the most part, they lounge on me. They generally pitter pat around behind a human then settle in the same room. (Like now, for instance. I’m typing this post sideways, because Emma is lying on my lap.)

Probably the biggest highlight of my day was the discovery of the chomped carrot.

A few days ago, one of the houses along from us had a small snowman in the front garden. It looked like mum and dad had helped one or all of their kids (they have three) make it. It was an excellent snowman complete with a carrot for a nose.

Then, this morning, as we walked passed it during our walk, I noticed the carrot had been chomped off. Not completely missing, as if someone had pulled it out by hand. No, the jagged end of the carrot was still visible. It had definitely been chomped.

Out of deference to those of a more sensitive nature, I didn’t take a photo. Instead, here’s the small ‘park’ where I walk the dogs each Saturday.

You can just make out the girls on the snowy path. I should point out that it wasn’t them who chomped the carrot.

Oh no they hate vegetables – they are definitely innocent!
I think it was the barking deer. They walk all through the gardens and I see their 2 toed prints everywhere

Yes, I’m thinking probably a deer enjoyed a tasty nibble!! ????
It looks very beautiful there!! ❄️
