There was a little improvement in my gouty foot but not enough to get me off the lounge. While Mirinda and Max (and Max) spent the day exploring our favourite bits of Surrey, I binge watched (almost all of) series 4 of The Sinner.
Bill Pullman plays Harry Ambrose perfectly. A detective who gets too emotionally involved in his cases, Harry is quiet but considered. He sees things that, ultimately, leads to a solution. He is also an amateur botanist, something that seems to have slipped by the wayside, though it is mentioned in every season.
The viewer sees the story as Harry unravels it.
I’ve been looking forward to having time to watch series 4, though didn’t exactly wish to be incapacitated to do it. Still.
While I binged, I only managed 6 episodes. It all got a bit too tense to continue. I had to watch something light for a bit to get my heart rate down. I chose Blockbuster. I lasted ten minutes. It was awful, and I can see why it was cancelled after the first season. Still, it relieved the tension.
I also tried sitting in silence. Sophie had mentioned that she loves sitting in silence, reading. I thought I’d give it a try. I didn’t last very long. Blockbuster lasted longer. I quickly put the radio on and chatted to the dogs in order to bring noise back into the house.
In the meanwhilst, Mirinda and Max had a lovely, very English pub lunch at the Withy then wandered around the mortuary chapel at Compton. This was, obviously, followed by a visit to the Watt’s Gallery. They both had a lovely time.
