Mixing Persian with Swedish

While I have little time for this Tory government, I have to say, I’m well impressed with the Home Office and, even more so, the passport office in Glasgow. Talk about a quick turnaround. I guess it was because Mirinda’s application was nice and simple, but, even so. We were warned it might take up to ten weeks. In Mirinda’s case: From citizenship ceremony to British passport took less than a month.

And the passport office keeps you informed all the way with each step. For instance, two days ago, we were told it was being printed. Then yesterday morning I awoke to the news that it had been printed.

Then, voila! The passport arrived.

Okay, it doesn’t have the EU on it, which is a shame but, still, she can now use the UK passport line when entering the country. And not listen to any of those “Is your husband travelling with you?‘ nonsense at passport control.

Apart from that amazing news, nothing much happened today apart from the usual mundane chores that always seem to need doing.

One highlight: I made lamb and pistachio rissoles for dinner and decided to put lingonberry jam on them rather than cacik. It worked very well, I thought.

I rather like mixing different cultural foods. Such tasty fun.
