Eyes on Friday

Today was an odd day of two trips into Farnham and an unexpected pint at The Six Bells. It was almost three trips into Farnham but I managed to fob the final one off to Mirinda given she’s going in tomorrow and the third trip was for her, anyway.

Obviously, my first trip, first thing this morning, was for general shopping. And, naturally, a stop off at Starbucks, where I discovered that the other cinnamon bun was eaten by Jade. This is relevent because I thought Sue said that she’d given one to Jaz. Fortunately I was spared the embarrassment of harassing Jaz because I’ve not seen her. Jade, on the other hand, was full of the delights that were my cinnamon bun.

So, that was all good.

I then popped into Waitrose and had a lovely chat with Pamela about her MS and my attitude to life. We agreed that happiness was what our lives needed as opposed to work. Oh, and a couple of salmon fillets and lamb chops.

I then moved across to Rachel where, I suddenly realised, with a sudden trolley u-turn, that her Charmer order had arrived. I obviously bought a couple.

My second trip into Farnham was for my yearly eye exam with the wonderful Suki Bains. She’s an amazing optician and someone I’d quite happily spend an hour with, discussing our lives. Which is what we did. Basically. Oh, and she checked my vision out as well.

I discovered she loves tennis, has been sky diving and bunjy jumping. I was also told off by Jackie for not giving them cinnamon buns on Wednesday.

My vision was fine, by the way.

My third journey from the house was in order to put fuel and air in Max. We went up to the garage near the Six Bells Roundabout and, afterwards, I told Mirinda that I might have to pop into the pub for a pint of something nice. After all, I explained, it seemed a real shame when I was going to walk right passed it on the way home. So I did.

A lovely excuse and an equally lovely pint.

I do wonder if the roundabout is named after the pub…or the other way around.
