Ragu-licious

Something weird is happening in this blog. On September 19, there were 25 views of one single post. Then, yesterday, there were 36 views of the same post. The post was titled GDBF | FUDC and the views came via Facebook. I haven’t used Facebook since 2019 but, haven’t deleted my account so my old posts can still be found. I checked via Fi’s Facebook account, so I know. However, the GDBF | FUDC is not anywhere near the top. All the views come from the UK. That’s as far as the stats take me. I guess it’s good. There’s no spam or strange things happening, just lots of views. Maybe someone can let me know why.

Anyway, apart from that, there was nothing weird about today. We leave early tomorrow morning, so we spent the day packing and basically preparing Fi for the future without us. This entailed going through the final big box of documents and teaching her how to use various bits of modern technology.

She quickly learned how to use the Kindle, the iPad and the laptop, which basically ended my teaching for the day.

I finally opened my new suitcase and filled it up. That didn’t take long and I settled down to read while Mirinda and Fi sorted through various important things. They then took Archie for his final mountain walk.

At about 4pm, we all set off for the Leura Garage for our final mountain meal. I decided we had to have our fourth and final meal there so I could try the beef ragu.

That was on Fi’s recommendation. And what a brilliant recommendation it was. Totally lush and very filling. Mind you, we almost had to wait until 5pm, when they start the evening service but, after we looked completely disappointed and started to leave, a very helpful waitress insisted she could twist the chef’s arm. And she did.

It took about half an hour but, boy was it worth it.

I am so going to miss the Leura Garage. It is a brilliant place.

We had an early night because we have an early start in the morning.
