Beer and conviviality

Mirinda wanted to see the Caloundra market this morning so we strolled up first thing.

It has grown. The last time I was here, it only went down as far as Minchintin Street, now it keeps going down to the next cross road.

Sunday market

It was the perfect day for a stroll among the stalls to the point that Mirinda spent about an hour discussing hand painted glass tumblers with a chap who eventually sold her six of them. This was in complete denial of the ten days we’ll have to drag them around Japan in the coming weeks. Just note that there are six at the moment.

We also stopped at the Chilli Jam Cafe (excellent coffee and loose leaf tea) before heading back to the house via the library and waited for Bob and Fi who turned up at 10:30 and took Mirinda away. We then headed off for Tracey’s barbeque.

This was the re-arranged barbi that was initially going to be held over Easter but was then changed when Bob reminded us that Easter was not the best time to travel. Whenever the date, it was a great way to see Kelly, Jaxon, Maddy, Denise, Tracey, Bob, Lorna, Bob, Mitchie, Nathalia, Yiannis and Carenza (the last two are Nathalia’s parents and I apologise for guessing how to spell their names).

However he spells his name, Yiannis is a total cack. As he demonstrated a couple of times, he doesn’t so much as fall over the line of decorum as doesn’t recognise that there is, in fact, a line at all. We laughed a lot and had a jolly good time, generally at Nathalia’s expense.

Jaxon entertained us all with his pool antics. He REALLY loves the pool and never stops talking. He particularly loves taunting his Uncle Bitch…I mean Mitch.

Maddy, on the other hand, spent quite a chunk of the day fast asleep in her grandma’s arms.

Sweet

All round it was a lovely day with just the right amount of beer and conviviality…well, at least for me it was.

Here is what Jaxon had to say:

Back at mum’s place, we sat down and watched a very silly programme called Scorpion that, thankfully, I’ll never have to sit through again.

[In reference to any previous video clips on this blog, I am not responsible for any stories told by other people. In fact, it nicely shows how history is changed every time someone talks about it…which is how history is written…]
