Not home alone

Up at 8am and slowly worked into the day. I went and collected the puppies at 11:30. Had a weird taxi driver who reminded me of Boris Karloff – not in a nice way.

The puppies had charmed all the staff at Serendipity. They recognised me (the dogs, not the staff) and went spac. The weather is very hot but it didn’t stop them running around like lunatics all day.

I went to bed on the lounger with the French doors open and the dogs curled up around me. It was cooler than the bedroom and meant the kitchen was free of dog pee. I might continue to do it until Mirinda gets back.

Speaking of Mirinda…she called this morning. It was so good hearing her voice after a week on the dig. She didn’t sound like she was having such a good time. The only homesickness she feels is for me, the cottage and the girls. Apparently Adele and Sharon didn’t ask her any questions about our life here. She added that all their houses (Lisa as well) are much bigger than ours. Claire reminded her that we have three.
