Puppy mayhem

The day after Doris dawned bright and blue and calm. In fact, all day was glorious, as if the minor devastation of yesterday had never happened. Leaving the gym and stepping into the beautiful morning was as uplifting as the workout had been.

Having dropped the dogs with Sue, I decided to wash the floor in the extension ahead of our weekend visitors. It’s always easier without them pattering in and out – the dogs as well as the visitors. In between sections (I have to move things from one part to another then repeat) I did a lot of other essential cleaning. By the time Mirinda arrived home (4pm) it was all looking lovely.

I, on the other hand, was sitting upstairs waiting for the dye to set on my head prior to rinsing it off. Mirinda thought this was very funny. Humour aside, it was getting essential. I pulled my hair back while I was working and noticed nothing but grey. It was very sad. I cheered it up.

At 6, we both went round to Sue to pick the girls up. Mirinda wasn’t coming until I suggested she might want to see how much Jem has grown. She was out the door before me.

At Sue’s, the door opened and four dogs pounced on me, then Mirinda. It was glorious puppy mayhem. Mirinda suddenly declared we needed to have four dogs. Sue looked a bit dismayed and I told her it was never going to happen.

I didn’t take any photographs today so I’m posting a video I took on Wednesday in one of Freya’s special places.

Four dogs! Much as I love them, I don’t think I could cope either. Nice lean-to.
