Five years on

I find it very hard to believe that it has been five years since I broke my wrist. So much has happened and yet it still doesn’t feel like it was five years ago. And to look at it, you’d think it didn’t happen at all. Maybe I imagined it…

Mirinda went back to guitar today. She dropped me off at Waitrose (where I walked around to Starbucks) before heading to Hindhead. I shopped then caught the bus home.

I was actually feeling a bit better; my knee wasn’t as sore as it has been. Perhaps I’ve turned a corner. I certainly hope so. (In Starbucks Grace asked what was wrong with my leg. I said I was a cripple. She said I wasn’t! That made me feel a bit better.)

Mirinda took the girls to Farnham Heath while I prepared dinner.

We’re currently avoiding too many carbohydrates (no spuds, no pasta, no bread, etc) and so tonight, rather than pasta made from wheat flour, I tried this red spiral stuff made from red lentil flour. It tasted no different to normal pasta…with the added benefit of a bit of colour.

It worked perfectly with an Italian veal dish I make.

After dinner we watched the very funny Absolutely Anything with Simon Pegg and Kate Beckinsale. Highly recommended for those that like their comedy unchallenging yet funny with a touch of the Python thrown in. In fact it was directed by Terry Jones, the Python who recently announced he is suffering from dementia. Such a shame. He’s a comedy icon and one of my heroes…though I cannot agree with him about his Barbarian Theory.

Well that was a bit more cheerful after Forlorn Friday, Like the sound of your eating habits better then bashing yourself at gym which I suppose you wont be going back to for a long while.
