I had a phone call as I was leaving the house for my Talking Newspaper stint today. It was Ann, the chairman of the Talking Newspaper. She asked if I was THE Gary Cook. I replied that I was, in fact, A Gary Cook. I asked her if she was THE Ann Newsome. She then asked if I was THE Gary Cook with a letter in this week’s Farnham Herald. I asked if was about inappropriately located motor vehicles. She said yes so I said I was.
And here is my letter. It relates to the cars we saw at Frensham Little Pond last weekend as well as a couple of motorbike sightings in the Park on Monday. I’m quite proud of it.

Of course, any offenders may not get that I’m being sarcastic. As I suggested to Ann, they may think I’m a Poster Boy for the Petrol Heads.
Suffice it to say, Ann included it in her recording of the Farnham edition though I didn’t include it in my Haslemere stint.
We had some fun with the recording this week (Ann, Brian and Margaret ably engineered by Roy) especially with regard to the Queen’s multiple birthday parties.
The other big highlight of the day were my muffins. Having a surplus of eggs, I decided to bake something and my eye was caught by a rather interesting recipe in Alice’s Adventures in Bakingland. It was for coconut, mint muffins with almond and honey glaze. I thought they came out very well though I did need to tweak the recipe a bit.
(Why on earth would any self respecting chef have different types of measurements in the same recipe? And who uses dry cup measures these days? Also the timing was a little light.)

The letter!!!! Very well done but lets hope the right people as in Council do something about it. Was that the Alice cooking book I gave you? they look good.
Love mum xxxx
