Emmy’s foot’s stuck

Today was a special breakfast. After our experience of the Big Breakfast of Brantome, I decided to make French toast. I also decided to try potato pancake cheesy thing from Facebook that seriously did not work. I have a few ideas for improving it… if I ever bother making them again. On the other hand, the French toast was delicious – thank you Rachel Khoo.

Then Mirinda Skyped (or tried to – because Bob’s sound wasn’t working they talked on the phone while watching their screens) and I went shopping.

After lunch we visited another garden centre for some plants they didn’t have at the one yesterday. No luck here though either.

Out of the blue, Mirinda suggested we go walking at Alice Holt. We haven’t been for ages. In fact I think the last time we went was in 2003. At least that’s the last time I took any photos.

But, as you’d expect, not a lot has changed.

Mind you, the kid in the 2003 photo appears to be sitting on a mouse which isn’t there now. Possibly the owl ate it.

It was lovely walking somewhere (comparatively) new. We only saw a few people (some crazy men fishing in the pond and an insane family of Schumanians the mother of whom was frightened of our dogs) and had a nice long, almost getting lost but rescued by the satnav on my phone, wander.

Afterwards we popped into The Cherry Tree, a pub very close to the car park where we’d left Max, for a refreshing glass of beer/cider. A lovely village pub with a small play ground where Emmy’s foot managed to get stuck in something… or so a little kid who lived in the pub decided to tell everyone.
