I spent all day in the garden today. While the day didn’t start off very promising the clouds quickly vanished and the sun warmed everything making gardening a pleasure.

Mirinda, on the other hand, had one of her four times a year meetings at the place where she’s a non-exec. Because it’s only four times a year, she never remembers how to get there.

It always a bit of a faff working it out and it’s always an early start. It also means a taxi to the station.

There’s been a bit of subsidence along the train line to Alton so there’s currently a bus replacement service in operation. The only way this affects us is that all the trains start at Farnham and, therefore, arrive at the station earlier. So, no standing on the platform.

I waved goodbye to Mirinda and headed into town while the train remained. This is the opposite of what normally happens.

After Skyping with mum I decided to give my new toy a bit of trial run.

While it looks a bit Vogon (both in colour and design) it works beautifully. It generates and releases a high pressure stream of water (no heat, no soap) at whatever you need cleaning. Like the terrace.

And so effortless. I hold the wand and pull the trigger. You’ve got to hand to the Vogons…I mean Germans.

Following a walk in the park where we met remarkably few dogs, (actually, we ‘met’ none and only saw a few at a distance – odd on such a glorious day) I cracked on with the Higgledy Piggledy Palisade.

By the end of the day, it was almost finished. I need to sharpen three more stakes and fill in a couple of gaps but that will be that. Then, finally, we’ll be able to plant up the Garden of One Thousand Yaps.

Almost forgot…here’s a photo of the acid loving plants in their pots, hiding under a bush.
