We had almost continuous rain after 3:30. The sky was black like an impending thunderstorm…which was forecast but didn’t turn up.
That was the afternoon though. Like Janus, the day had two faces and the first one was sunny and settled. Given Mirinda was going back to work this morning, that was good.
After waving goodbye at the station, I headed into town for Starbucks and shopping before heading back home.
Being a Tuesday, I Skyped with mum, spending the first half hour fixing up her browser. After changing up to Windows 10, her default browser had changed to IE and all her bookmarks had gone.
Well, they hadn’t gone, as such, they were just hiding. I found them and put them back where they should be. I also installed Chrome so she could have the best browser.
Eventually we had a lovely chat while the dogs played happily in the (rare) sunshine.
It was then lunch followed by a lovely run up the park.
There were quite a few dogs abroad today. I was forever picking poor Freya up to avoid any nasty and unwanted mating.
Possibly my favourite dog (apart from Rodney who we also met) was the mental collie who had a problem with a puddle. He was trying to dig a hole in it but, of course, the water kept filling itself back in. This confused him a lot and so he barked at it.
He tried digging it out and subsequently barked at it for a very long time. In fact he barked at it until his owner dragged him away from the puddle.
Given the pleasant weather, I then hit the garden.
I planted the four rhubarb and custard Hebes we bought on the weekend. They have replaced the diseased box around the water feature.
I then finished the stick pile fence which has needed a bit of chook wire for ages.
I also dug up the dead lollipop rose which had been dead for ages. I saw the problem straight away – the roots hadn’t grown.
The ghastly plastic cupboard lost a door in Storm Katie so I fixed that before finally ordering a load of garden stakes for the Garden of One Thousand Yaps.
Then it rained. And it didn’t stop raining.
Here’s a photo of Freya’s feet. They’re nice and clean.

Yes Freyas feet are lovely and clean so you must have kept her out of the puddles.
