Tonight, given it was Halloween and we’d rather not be in for the awful little visitors that roam the street looking for rotten teeth, we decided to have our annual Hope and Gratitude dinner.
Of course we have a lot of restaurants to choose from around here so the choice wasn’t easy to reach. However, a choice was finally arrived at and we booked into Cote, which happens to be Mirinda’s favourite.
We were about ready to go out by the time 7:30 rolled around. The day had basically consisted of washing floors (me) and study (Mirinda). We needed some spoiling.
The Lion and Lamb Yard was spookily empty as we wandered down. There was an odd chap eating outside at Cote bit that was about it.
Inside, however, the place was abuzz with life.
We toasted our various Hopes for the future (that mum’s flight wasn’t too awful, that Bob visits us in 2016, that Freya will learn to go outside to the toilet, etc) and then for the many things we have to be Grateful for (last year we Hoped the extension would finish soon…this year we were grateful out had been).
Our meals were up to the usual Cote standard and we thoroughly enjoyed them. We were then home in time to watch the final episode of Line of Duty.
I look remarkably pink
AT least i know the places that you are talking about now.
