I discovered today that about 26% of Americans think that the sun orbits the earth. I don’t know about anyone else but I think that’s shocking. I’m sure Copernicus would be in fits if he wasn’t dead. Though, to be fair, we are talking about a nation that thinks gun ownership is more important than life.
But, back to the sun…the morning was a bit gloomy and I thought we were in for yet another awful day of rain, rain and a bit more rain. How wrong I was. After the barest of damp drizzles first thing, the skies cleared and there he was. Good old Apollo standing in his chariot, whipping those horses on their daily canter across the sky. And we all took full advantage of it.
After lunch we had a lovely romp through the park with a lot of people admiring, patting and generally threatening to steal Freya.
She is an amazingly active little dog. She hates being carried, squealing for release almost constantly. I remember Emma getting tired after not very far but not Freya. She races after Emma, fighting over sticks and dashing all over.
Back at home, we spent the rest of the day in the garden. There was a lot of weeding to do. Which is a lot more fun with three puppies.
