Yet more flowers

Yesterday we bought another load of plants. And today I planted them.

Yesterday we bought two long lengths of timber and associated fixings. And today I turned them into a raised bed.

Yesterday the weather was glorious. And today it pretty much drizzled all day.

I’m amazed there’s still room for anything…but there is. While we’ve made a dent, or filled a dent, or whatever…the garden still has a few holes between the plants but we’re getting there. And with each week the garden gets lovelier and a little closer to the Eden we’re after. Not that we’re planting an apple tree. Oh dear me no! We don’t want to run the risk of attracting serpents.

So, in the hot border today, I planted the following

1. Three Helenium Sahin’s Early Flowerer

helenium

2. Three Achillea Walthur Funcke

3. And a few Verbena Endurascape Hot Pinks

Then, in the Crazy Bed, I planted a few more of the delightfully bright pink Verbenas and three Cosmos Sonata Whites

Having completed the planting bit, I then proceeded to make a raised bed to go alongside my office, skirting the edge of Carmen’s Sweet Escape. Once I’ve finished filling it with top soil, it will be ready for some lovely pink hydrangas.

Mirinda commuted today and was home early enough to appreciate the beauty of our garden. Walking from the terrace to the back is now uplifting with manic bursts of colour and hordes of busy little insects. And then, at the hot border, you turn around and face the extension. It really looks fantastic. We couldn’t be happier.
