Fantasy adventure time

Sadly, I didn’t get to go to the fire engine display at Tilford today. And I won’t be going tomorrow either because Tom has a new movie he REALLY wants me to see. I guess I’ll have to wait till next time.

Rather than fire engines, Mirinda spent the morning Skyping with Bob and Fiona. Bob is off to Oshkosh on Monday so they decided to chat today rather than tomorrow. Then, in the afternoon, we went to the garden centre and bought all of their bedding plants.

We had a three level shopping trolley piled with plants. They were so delightfully placed that quite a few people stopped in awestruck admiration while it was parked up in the cafe. (Incidentally, the cafe staff were incapable of cutting a cake. It seems they don’t know the difference between tongs and a knife. I would have thought this was pretty basic but I guess school or home life hasn’t prepared them for a career in catering.)

Back at home, we dotted the various beds with the plants which I’ll embed next week then went to Frensham for a lovely walk punctuated by the trucks used by the filming company presently there making the prequel for Snow White and the Huntsman which, of course, was also filmed there. Sadly we didn’t see any movie-making activity…just the trucks.

But, if it’s activity that’s required, the Adventure Playground has obviously been a hive of one during the week.

I imagine the above is going to be some sort of walking track, suspended above the ground with ropes for holding. I assume there’s some sort of plan for it but it must be quite crazy given the weird angles. Works for me given how much I dislike symmetry.

There’s also, what appears to be, a fort of some sort.

And, looking at the new frames and construction in the dip, it looks like the flying fox will return.

I bet there’s quite a few kids who get dragged along the path who are all excited about it growing before their eyes.

I can vouch for the appeal of ‘growing before the eyes.’ One of the hollyhocks we planted has started to blossom. It looks lovely.

I think it looks like wonky chimpanzee bars rather than a walkway. We will have to wait and see!
