Choosing the perfect leather

It’s taken a while and quite a few different shops but, finally, we have decided on our new Sitting Zone furniture. We went up to the shop in Farnham this prevening, scoured through the massive selection of leathers and ordered a beautiful lounge and two recliners. We won’t see them for 14 weeks but it’s good knowing it’s finally done.

The day itself was miserable. Rain, rain and more rain. The poor dogs were going a bit stir crazy. Actually, Day-z not so much but Emma doesn’t really understand the impact continual rain has on walks.

So, the day was spent mostly inside. Mirinda Skyped with Bob while I went shopping (Fiona was busy packing for the big trip so she didn’t join in) then we settled in for a day in the warmth of our new extension. There is something incredibly comforting about sitting warm and cosy watching the horrid weather through massive great plate glass doors. The underfloor heating helps as well.

As it turned out, having such a lousy day helped with Mirinda’s study. On Tuesday she’s going to take her test, the first step on the path to a British passport. So, a lot of the day was spent learning about how the various countries in the UK work politically, what year men and women were given the vote equally and the relationship between Mary Queen of Scots and Elizabeth I.

We’ve been running through a series of practice tests and today marked the first time Mirinda has managed 100% consistently. I reckon Tuesday will be a breeze…as long as Bobby Moore doesn’t feature too heavily.

It’s been quite handy for me as well. A lot of the stuff I didn’t know and I’m already British.
