We had a Nicktor Night tonight only it wasn’t really a Nicktor Night because Nicktor didn’t stay. This is a shame because he doesn’t get to relax properly seeing as he has to watch what he drinks and then drive all the way home. It’s a long way to come to watch a movie.
I don’t know why he doesn’t stay any more. Perhaps he’s gone off me.
We didn’t even have dinner because both the nearest pubs are without regular cooks. As Mirinda said, I should have just cooked something. Maybe next time.
But, even without dinner and without Nicktor using the Old Rose Room which I spent hours getting ready for him, it was still an enjoyable evening. We had a couple of pints of Timothy Taylor’s Landlord (one of my favourites) at the Six Bells then returned home to watch American History X, a powerful and deeply moving picture which affected us both.
As well as tidying up the Old Rose Room, I also spent a good few hours cleaning the extension floor, my new start of the week job.
Meanwhile, up in London, Mirinda went to the ballet to see a circus.
