Black Jack

Jack Brabham died today. He is possibly best known for pushing his car over the line when it ran out of petrol in 1955. He is also well known for being a Grand Prix driver who designed and built his own racing cars. No-one is sure why he was nicknamed ‘Black Jack’ but it may have been because of his ruthlessness on the race track. In 1966 he became the first (and still only) driver to win the World Championship in his own car.

As far as us, it was a bit of a lazy day here at Frensham. I took Day-z for a lovely long walk around Farnham Heath then, late in the afternoon, we sat at the cricket ground. I read while Day-z watched a group of extremely noisy children running around and, generally, having fun.

Was that allowed in the rules? Sounds like delaney’s donkey – and it also won the race
