Bathroom and study

First thing, I sent off a list of the bathroom units we wanted to John at the bathroom shop. While the actual bathroom and layout is not changing, everything in it, is. We are seriously not going to recognise our house when all of this is finished.

The best bit of changing the bathroom (as far as I’m concerned) is getting rid of the ridiculous upraised, round sink. These things might look sexy and cool but, when it comes down to actually using them, they are terrible. It just goes to show how stupid human beings can be that they buy things that don’t actually perform properly simply because they look ‘good’.

I could go into the many things wrong with round, raised sinks, but I wouldn’t want to bore my reader that much. Suffice it to say that they are stupid.

Following a second email to Dave the Builder listing a few of our concerns, I was back into the packing. Today was (mostly) about Mirinda’s study. By the end of the day, it was all in the Old Rose Room along with the contents of the Old Rose Room.

It was another long, hard day which saw me climbing the stairs more times than is physically possible and finding places for things that normally wouldn’t fit. It kind of reminded me of the nomad days, fitting everything into a single truck for a tour of NSW.

That, of course, reminded me of Lynden and the many, happy days we spent together. Which reminds me, he’s presently appearing in the New Theatre production of To Kill a Mockingbird as Atticus Finch. According to the reviews I’ve read, he’s doing a terrific job. Adrian Mole seems such a long time ago.

Oh, I almost forgot…no builders today but they are rumoured to come tomorrow.
