Tomorrow, David is starting the decoration of the main bedroom so most of today was spent clearing the room out. Originally I’d asked him to give me a hand moving the new bed but, late in the day, I managed to slide the ridiculously heavy mattress into Mirinda’s study then proceeded to take the base apart.
I could probably have managed it in half the time if not for the fact that I was operating on only four and half hours sleep. This hit home later in the day when I made a cup of tea and laid on the lounge listening to the radio. Two hours later I was woken up by Carmen, telling me she wanted some dinner.
There’s something quite frightening, suddenly waking up to the extreme close up of a poodle’s head, her pink tongue giving your nose a good wash.
She doesn’t make a sound (barking would be handy but tends to make me just tell her to shut up) but just puts her front paws on the lounge and leans in. Clever dog. It never fails to wake me up. Mind you, it’s better than when they sleep with me in the bedroom. A lick on the nose is better than having her walking on my head.
The reason I didn’t manage a lot of sleep last night was because of the trip home from the O2. I managed to reach Waterloo with ten minutes to spare only to find that there had been some sort of mechanical problem on the line, delaying everything.
The train eventually left at just gone midnight and proceeded to take me slowly home. Once at the house, I had to feed the dogs then sit with them for a bit before, finally, going to bed. I was then awake at 7am, as usual, feeling more tired than when I went to sleep.
Anyway, that was last night. Tonight the poodles ate at the proper time and I managed to go to bed at a reasonable time.

What a way to get woken up Lol.
