Ducks and chickens

So, Mirinda has come down with a terrible cold. The house is full of coughing and used tissues. I spent quite a lot of it out on the verandah working on The Project.

Meanwhile, Suzie had a jolly time, roaming the property, getting into all sorts of scrapes.

Always ready

Always ready

She has her special medicated bath tomorrow so Mirinda figured she could enjoy a bit of freedom for the morning.

There was a lot of duck action in and around the creek today. I counted 17 at one stage (Bob says he counted 50 the other day!).

We're a couple of ducks

We’re a couple of ducks

Fi had threatened to make us a roast dinner tonight and she followed through with it. We had occasion to devour a delicious roast chicken and all the bits and bobs one expects with one.

After a delicious dinner, we settled back to watch Madagascar…until Fi started snoring so loud we couldn’t hear the dialogue. We will watch the rest tomorrow. Everyone slowly drifted off to bed except me. I stayed up and watched the first two sessions of cricket from Lords: England v New Zealand. It was a slow old start to a test and NZ made them pay, ending the day on 160-4 after only 80 overs. And even I can work that run rate out.
