I thought I’d be safe from jet lag. After all, I DID fly Premium Economy. I also thought it would be okay because of the timings. Leaving at lunchtime, hitting Hong Kong in the early hours of the morning then landing in Sydney in the evening meant it was just a long day…surely. Not so. I was sitting with Jason and Lauren, playing a scary game, as usual and my eyes were getting heavier and heavier.
Jason and Lauren came down to NSW with Andrew this morning. One of the first things they did was check out the tree that fell over recently.
This tree had been standing from before they moved to Dural. In fact, the family used to picnic beneath it before the house was built. I have no idea why the tree fell down but fell down it did. In a big wind, apparently. Fortunately, it fell in exactly the best place, bridging the creek at a corner. And it’s perfect for kids to clamber all over.
The twins brought a lot of life to the house, running around, making a noise…basically being kids. It was lovely.
We also had a visit from (cousin) Michelle who is putting together an audio/visual show for the funeral on Tuesday. And I answered the phone to her later in the day. She thought I was Bob and I had no idea who ‘Cousin Michelle’ was, although I’d spoken to her and kissed her goodbye only hours before. I blame the jet lag that I wasn’t going to get.
Then, suddenly my eyes closed and refused to re-open. I had an hour and half sleep and felt much better. Except that it’s definitely the jet lag. Damn it.
Of course its Jet-Lag that’s what you should have done earlier, but for all that it still sounded like a better flight. My goodness the twins have grown up only ever seeing photos you don’t realise that they’re getting older. Poor Suzie.
