20 years ago, today, Tim Berners-Lee convinced CERN that the web he’d devised should be for the entire world to enjoy. CERN agreed and the world was changed completely. Imagine, no World Wide Web…I can’t. This page says it all.
Dennis and Lloyd arrived a bit later than usual today (Dennis had to go and give someone a quote) but then Lloyd went at the sanding hammer and tongs (and it’s not that easy sanding with nothing but a hammer and some tongs) while Dennis went off to lay a kitchen floor for someone else.
And so it was for the rest of the day. Poor Lloyd. He really works hard. He suggested that I should just sit and watch the snooker all day…if only.
Meanwhile, I was in the garden, moving more forget-me-nots (hedge bed), bluebells (under the beech) and aquilegias (hedge bed). I then planted the three senetti that we bought on Sunday. Talk about an instant garden! They are extraordinary.
Somewhere along the line I did myself a very silly injury. I was pulling up a rather reluctant weed when I overbalanced and went flying backwards. Had I landed on something soft (like grass or dirt or a poodle) it would have been fine and just had something to laugh about. Unfortunately, the corner of the stepping stone I did land on was far from soft. More unfortunately was the part of me that landed on it. I am now suffering with a bruised tail bone.
Before anyone laughs at such a silly place, let me tell you, it hurts! A lot!! And it hurts when walking, sitting, bending…virtually in any position. You just can’t get away from it. Oh woe, oh woe, oh woe is me.
And, in a perfectly orchestrated coincidence, as Dennis and Lloyd started to leave in their van, so Nicktor turned up to take their place. But I’ll talk about that tomorrow.
Your garden must be all the colours of the rainbow so lovely. I wont say silly billy you should know better you will have a nice old bruise now.
